Air fryers are small household kitchen appliances. Inspection of air fryers is mainly based on IEC-2-37 standard: Safety Standard for household and similar electrical devices - Special requirements for commercial electric fryers and deep fat fryers. If the following tests are not indicated, the test methods are in accordance with IEC International standards.

1. Shipping drop test (not applicable to fragile products)
Test method: Perform a drop test according to ISTA 1A, fall from a height (height determined by product quality), 10 times from different directions (below), product and packaging should be free of fatal and serious problems. The test is mainly used to simulate the possible free fall of the product during handling, and investigate the ability of the product to resist unexpected impact.
2. Appearance and assembly inspection
- The surface of the electroplated parts must be smooth, without spots, pinholes and bubbles.
- Paint surface paint film must be smooth and bright, uniform color, solid paint layer, the main surface should be free of paint, spots, wrinkles and peeling and other defects affecting the appearance.
- The surface of plastic parts should be smooth, uniform color, no obvious white top, scratch and color spots.
- The overall color is consistent without obvious color difference.
- The assembly gap/step between the components on the outer surface of the product shall be less than 0.5mm, and the overall performance shall be consistent, and the strength of the coordination shall be uniform and appropriate, without too tight or too loose coordination.
- The rubber washer at the bottom shall be completely assembled, without falling off, breakage, rust and other phenomena.
3. Measure product dimension/weight/power cable length
Measure individual product weight, product size, gross weight of outer box, outer box size, length of power cord and capacity of air fryer according to product specification or sample control test provided by customer. If the customer does not provide detailed tolerance requirements, +/-3% tolerance should be used.
4. Coating adhesion test
Use 3M 600 adhesive paper for oil spray, hot stamping, UV coating and printing surface adhesion test, the content should not be 10% off.
5. Label friction test
Wipe the rated sticker with a cloth dipped in water for 15S, and then with a cloth dipped in gasoline for 15S. There is no obvious change on the label. The writing should be clear and does not affect reading.
6. Full function testing (including functions that must be assembled)
Switch/knob, installation, adjustment, setting, display and other functions specified in the instruction manual should be in good working order. All functions shall conform to the declaration. For the air fryer, it should also be tested for cooking French fries, chicken wings and other food function, after cooking, the outer surface of the French fries should be golden brown crispy texture, the inside of the French fries should be slightly dry without moisture, good taste; After cooking the chicken wings, the skin should be crisp and no liquid flow out. If the meat is too hard, the chicken wings are too dry, which is not a good cooking effect.
7. Input power test
Test method: Measure and calculate the power deviation applied at rated voltage.
At the rated voltage and normal operating temperature, the rated power deviation shall not be greater than the following provisions:
Rated power (W)
Allowable deviation
25<;≤200 ±10% >200
+5% or 20W (whichever is greater), -10%
8. High voltage test
Test method: Apply the required voltage (voltage according to product category or according to the determined voltage below) between the parts to be tested for 1S, leakage current 5mA. Required test voltage: 1200V for products destined for the US or Canadian market; The Class I sold to Europe is 1000V and the Class II sold to Europe is 2500V without insulation breakdown. Air fryers generally fall into Class I.
9. Boot test
Test method: The sample shall be powered at rated voltage and operated for at least 4 hours under full load or according to the instruction (if less than 4 hours). After the test, the sample shall be able to pass the high voltage test, function test, grounding resistance test, etc., and the result shall be measured without defects.
10. Grounding test
Test method: Ground test current 25A, time 1S, resistance less than 0.1ohm. Us Canadian market: Ground test current 25A, time 1S, resistance less than 0.1ohm.
11. Function test of hot fuse
Let the thermostat do not work, dry burning until the hot fuse is disconnected, the fuse should work, no safety problems appear.
12. Power cable tension test
Test method: IEC standard: Pull 25 times. If the net weight of the product is less than or equal to 1 kg, use 30 Newton tension; If the net weight of the product is greater than 1 kg and less than 4 kg, use 60 Newton tension; If the net weight of the product is greater than 4 kg, use 100 Newton tension. After the test, the power cord should not produce more than 2mm displacement. UL standard: Pull 35 lb and hold for 1 minute. The power cable does not shift.
13. Internal work and inspection of key parts
Inspect the internal structure and key components by CDF or CCL.
Mainly check the relevant parts of the model, specifications, manufacturers and other data. Generally, these parts include: MCU, Relay (relay), MosFETs, large electrolytic capacitors, large resistors, terminals, protective components such as PTC, MOV (varistor), etc.
14. Check clock accuracy
The clock should be set according to the instruction, and the actual time should be calculated according to the measurement (set at 2 hours). If there is no customer requirement, the tolerance of electronic clock is +/-1min, and the tolerance of mechanical clock is +/-10%.
15. Stability check
UL Standards and Methods: Place the air fryer as normally used on an incline surface 15 degrees from the water level, the power cord should be placed in the most unfavorable position, and the appliance should not tip over.
IEC standards and methods: The air fryer shall be placed on an inclined surface of 10 degrees from the horizontal plane as usually used. The power cord shall be placed in the most unfavorable position and shall not tip over. Place on an inclined surface at 15 degrees from the horizontal plane, with the power cord in the most unfavorable position and allowed to tip over, but repeat the temperature rise test.
16. Handle compression test
The holder of the handle will be subjected to 100N pressure for 1 minute. Or support on the handle equivalent to 2 times the whole pot water and shell weight for 1 minute. After testing, the fixed system has no defects. Such as riveting, welding and so on.
17. Noise test
Reference standard: IEC60704-1
Test method: In background noise < In a 25dB environment, place the product on a 0.75m high test table in the center of the room, at least 1.0m away from the surrounding walls; Provide rated voltage to the product and set gears so that the product can produce maximum noise (Airfry and Rotisserie gears recommended); The maximum sound pressure (A weighted) is measured at 1m from the front, back, left, right and top azimuth of the product. The measured sound pressure should be less than the decibel value required by the product specification.
18. Water leakage test
Fill the inner container of the air fryer with water and let it stand. The whole equipment should not leak.
19. Barcode scanning test
Bar code printing clear, using bar code scanner scanning, scanning results in line with products.
